Microsoft recently announced that it will work with Andhra Pradesh Government to provide low Cost Internet to the Users. microsoft termed this project as 'the pilot project' first of it's kind in india.
The project consist of TV White Spaces technology. This technology uses unused TV spectrum to deliver internet connectivity to the users. The project was approved after a discussion between Anil Bhansali, R&D Managing Director Microsoft India, Prashant Shukla, National Technology Officer, and other executives along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu at Vijayawada on Friday. The Chief Minsiter said, “I have always experimented with technology to take the services and welfare programmes to people. With this pilot project, Microsoft has shown that innovation and technology can make a society technologically advanced.”
microsoft, DOT, ERNET, and DEITY are working together on the project pilot to provide low cost internet to educational institutes in Srikakulam a district of andhra pradesh.
One of the main advantages of this technology is that it has a range of atleast 10KM as compared to 100m range of wifi. Microsoft has also agreed to provide a cloud-based machine learning solution for schools which will help the government to assess and reduce school drop out rates.
Microsoft also said that before india they had implemented this Pilot project in Namibia, Tanzania, Singapore, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, and Ghana.
At Build 2015 Microsoft announced 'BRIDGE Technology' of sideloading APK to Windows Phone. The tools that let Developers to port Android Apps to Windows 10. These Tools will also be capable of porting IOS Apps, Web Apps and Classic Win32 Apps to Windows 10 including phone. The Names provided to these projects were -

- Project IslandWood - IOS Apps
- Project WestMinster - Web Apps
- Project Centennial - Win32 Apps
Yesterday, the tools for Project Astoria were leaked onto the web and now users can freely download them and sideload Android Apps to Windows 10.
Indeed, this is still illegal to steal Android Apps and port them to windows 10 as the software is far from the final build. The instructions on how to sideload Apps will not be provided nor be promoted. The post was just to provide the info not to promote any illegal activity.

Microsoft has announced that the first version of Headset will be provided to Developers and Enterprise Customers.
Developers got Eager to get their hands on long awaited HoloLens, when Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told BBC that the first version will be available by "Next Year".
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also said that the first version of HoloLens will be geared towards 'Developers and Enterprises', which means that the average consumer will have to wait more likely for their hands on HoloLens.
